A Special Guest Lecture on topic “Career counselling for Medical and Paramedical students” was organized by Career Counseling Cell in Council Hall of Subharti Medical College Meerut . Psychology expert and renowned personality of Psychology and Human behavior, Dr. Poonam Devdutt delivered the Lecture.
The talk was initiated by a warm welcome by Prof. (Dr.) Varsha Chaudhary, Counselor, Career Counseling Cell and Introduction of speaker was given by Prof. Dr. Rahul Bansal .
The audience were included Final Year medical Students, MBBS interns and Paramedical Students.
Dr. Poonam Devdutt started the lecture by giving an insight about how there are multiple options for the future of medicos other than just pursuing Post Graduation. The talk included how the career decision can influence our future lifestyle, status and the money that we will earn. She also told us how the right person with the right job can attain success and satisfaction in life. She conducted a fun interactive session with the audience involvement. Each person was handed a piece of paper and was asked to write the answers to the question regarding Introspection of one selves. It was series of three questions which would make us analyze better about ourselves and help us decide a right path for our future endeavours. This was explained to us by a career developmental cycle,
which pondered the following points:
-Know Yourself
-Explore possibilities
-Make choices
-Make it happen.
She gave us a lot of options through her presentation branching out towards other fields integrated with Medical Sciences.

The talk was concluded with a standing ovation. Vote of thank was given by Medical Interns Priyamvada Goel and Prithu. A potted plant and a college momento was presented to Dr. Poonam Devdutt by Dr. Pawan Parashar & Dr. Varsha Chaudhary as a token of appreciation.
