“Employability in the field of Electronic Media”

A guest lecture was organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University on the topic of employment opportunities in the field of electronic media. While addressing the students Rishi Kumar, Deputy Executive Producer of India News Television Channel, said that there is immense employment potential for the youth in the area of television journalism. Along with modern technological developments in the media industry, the need for skilled workers is also felt. Under this, employment is provided to the youth for various types of services. Rishi Kumar said that to become a good media person, one should keep a close eye on the news and develop writing skills.

He said that today there is a severe shortage of professional writers in the media. Therefore, in view of this, students of journalism and mass communication should pay attention towards the writing skill development. Addressing the students, he said that the nation should be the first priority in political news. Also, reading newspapers regularly will not only increase the knowledge of the students but will also improve their spelling to become good writers. He said that in the race for political news, new journalists get a lot of opportunities. There are opportunities to meet celebrities of different fields but it is also a challenging task. We should leave aside our personal political views and reveal the real and true news.

Further he said that journalism students should develop new ideas. Today there is a lack of language of innovation and new ideas in the media. Therefore, it is important to be clear about our mission. A media person may have to work in different positions in the input and output sections of the channel. They should always be prepared for this also. He also gave the mantra to media persons to be respectful. Due to which a media person always keeps moving forward. While addressing the queries of the students of the department, he said that AI is not a challenge for any media professional. Technology keeps developing from time to time. While giving the Guru mantra of Media to the students, he said that regular reading of newspapers and keeping an eye on the newspapers should be a habit of a media person. For a person who writes well, employment in the media can be easily available. Because you can get opportunities in the media anytime. This area is full of possibilities. There is a need for creative people who can do something new and different. If you want to become a good journalist or anchor then you have to focus on building yourself. Being a part of a media family, you have to prepare yourself for this field from now on. He also said that there are immense possibilities in the field of animation and graphics, here only your creativity and smartness are seen.

During the program, he also gave some special tips to the students, through which students can prepare themselves as soon as possible.

The program was started by lighting the lamp in front of the picture of Goddess Saraswati. Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, while welcoming the guests, said that at present there is no dearth of employment in the field of electronic media.
