A Guest Lecture was organised by Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law on 29.09.2021 at 11.30AM at the Moot Court Room at Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law. The Guest Speaker of the event was Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law. The topic of Lecture was “Hierarchy of Courts in India”.
The programme started in time and was attended by more than 100 students. The event was convened by Dr. Ashutosh Garg, Associate Professor, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law. He welcomed the esteemed Guest and all present there. And then he called upon Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law to share his enriched knowledge to the gathering.
Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law then joined the podium and gave a lecture on “Hierarchy of Courts in India”. He through Chart demonstrated the hierarchy of the courts in India and their respective jurisdictions including pecuniary and subject matter jurisdiction. He also informed about various special courts and their functions including Family Court, Court of JSCC, Commercial Court, and Presiding Officer under MACT Act etc. He encouraged students to be informed about changes occurring in the Law with time. He also told them to keep themselves informed about the latest prevailing laws both in the form of Amendments by Legislature and Judicial Pronouncements. He also said that students have case laws with them.
The recording of the Guest Lecture was done by the LMS Committee of the college. It had active contributions from Ms. Anjali Yadav (Assistant Professor), Ms. Itisha Jain (Lecturer) & Ms. Anjum Jahan (Lecturer). Apart from it the management of Moot Court room was looked after by Mr. Robin Bhardwaj (Supervisor) and Mr. Prince (Computer Lab Technician).
