“Identification and Formulation of the Research Problem”

Research is the application of a systematized method in the study of problems. It is scientific and seeks to integrate its findings leading to development of organized and useful knowledge as well as solution of a problem. The research process starts with the identification and selection of a problem for investigation. This initial step is very challenging for a researcher as he/she may not have any prior experience in this direction. The procedure starts with choosing a broad field within which study is to be conducted. The field should be interesting to the researcher as he/she has to put in a lot of effort and time to it. This is narrowed down to a problem which is selected by the researcher. A number of factors operate in its selection.

This workshop is being organized to further enhance the knowledge of the participants in the direction of this important aspect of research.
