On 31st Aug 2022, a Guest lecture was organized by the Department of Animation, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts & Fashion Design under the able guidance of Dr. Pintu Mishra, Dean of NBSCFF, Ms. Vidhi Khandelwal H.O.D Animation Dept. and Dr. Mukesh Ruhella, SITE College for all the students of the university in Amrita Shergill Hall, NBSCFF. The topic for the lecture was “WILDLIFE THROUGH THE EYE OF A CAMERA”. World-renowned photographer Mr. Akash Das graced the event as Guest of Honour as well as the Chief Spokesperson and Mr. Naresh Thapliyal was also present as the Chief Guest is an International Affair Advisor.
The lecture was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Major General (Dr.) G. K Thapliyal with welcoming the guests by presenting them with a sapling and a token of gratitude to them. Ms. Jigme Zangmo, a student of BFA Animation hosted the event wonderfully with the help of Ms. Sanch Maya Rai and Ms. Shruti Vats students of the Animation Dept. Apart from that Mr. Manthan and Mr. Chayan students of Fine Arts took photographs during the event.
Mr. Akash Das is an acclaimed Wildlife Photographer and he is also n expert in Advertising, Fashion, and Fine Art Photography. He has already done 10 solo exhibitions in prestigious galleries in Miami, Paris, Hamburg, Chicago, and India. He has been recognized among the “10 most influential people in the photography industry”. Mr. Akash Das is the only photographer whose black and white exhibition called ‘ In Search of Asian Nudes’ got engraved in the Limca Book of World Records as the first of its kind in the World.
The chief spokesperson talked about how to use light, angles, and distance to achieve stunning photographs and about the love for nature one should have before indulging in wildlife photography. He inspired students to follow their dreams and do something that they want to do and in what they feel the most alive. He has also shown his work to the students depicting wildlife and the beauty of nature in one frame. Students were very excited and asked multiple questions to Mr. Akash Das about his techniques and experiences to which he also answered
