Report on Lung Cancer Awareness Day
The Month of November has been observed as Lung Cancer Awareness week. In order to celebrate, the department of Medical-Surgical Nursing of Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College has organized different programmes on 02.11.2021. The programme was organized with the guidance of the Dean & Principal Dr. Geeta Parwanda.
The two programmes are as follows:
- Nukkad Natak
- Perking up like Lungs by the students
- Webinar
- Nukkad Natak:
The third-year B.Sc Nursing students had performed Nukkad Natak on the awareness of Lung Cancer in Panchali, Meerut. The programme was started at 9.30 am. The community people eagerly participated and watched the role play played by the students. At the end of the play, a discussion process was taken place to clear the doubts. The Programme came to end at 11.30 am
2. Perking up like Lungs by the students:
Nearly 100 students joined together and formed a picture of lungs and how smoking changes lungs into Cancer. It was an event made by the students enthusiastically and made it successfully.
3. Webinar on Lung cancer awareness:
The webinar on lung cancer was the second activity held at 2.30 pm in Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing college. The Speaker for the programme is Mr. Muralidharan, Professor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, E.S College of Nursing, Vizhupuram District, Tamilnadu.
Prof. Anandh Sam Perera has welcomed all the participants and the speaker for the programme. The speaker spoke about the detailed aspects of the prevention of cancer. It was a thought-provoking session. The session ended at 3.30 pm. At the end of the session, students cleared their doubts on various processing in preventive measures. Prof. Hepsi Natha, HOD, MSN had delivered the vote of thanks. Totally 148 students and 10 faculties have participated.
