WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY & WEEK  REPORT-2020
THEME :  “Mental Health for All (Greater Investment – Greater Access. Everyone, everywhere)”
DATE : 10/10/2020 TO 16/10/2020
EVENT : WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY & WEEK.
VENUE : PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI NURSING COLLEGE AND DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY,CSSH, SUBHARTI UNIVERSITY MEERUT.
NAVIGATION : DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY, PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI NURSING COLLEGE.
BENEFICIARIES : PATIENTS,PATIENT RELATIVES ,STUDENTS OF GNM 2ND YEAR, BSC(N) 3rd YEAR AND MSC(N) 2nd YEAR.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To create a supportive environment.
  2. To identify early signs of burnout.
  3. Treating mental illness
  4. To raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.
  5. Reducing risk factors for suicide, such as poverty due to pandemic .
  6. Giving people hope for a better life after current problems are resolved

PROGRAMME REPORT:
Day : 1 (10/10/2020)
The world mental health day was celebrated in Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College on 10/10/2020  with theme Mental Health for All (Greater Investment – Greater Access. Everyone, everywhere). The day  started with chart preparation and flex board were prepared and displayed by the department of mental health nursing. These displays enriched the views with the knowledge of mental health in changing world, its purposes and prevention along with management tips.
The world mental health day theme introduced by Mr.Arun.R, Asso.prof  & incharge of  Department of  mental health nursing , PDMSNC,  he explained the theme of  world health day 2020 “Mental Health for All (Greater Investment – Greater Access. Everyone, everywhere).
 

As a part of World Mental Health   Day celebration,  PANNA DHAI MAA SUBHARTI  NURSING COLLEGE organized a  online webinar on 10/10/2020 .

Dr.Anjana Williams. Prof & Head, Department of Psychiatry,Sri Swami Bhumanand College of Nursing. Haridwar, UK.  She  presented the importance of mental health and common Management Of stress For Young Nurses, especially she has given simple tips of mental health  for all (Greater Investment – Greater Access. Everyone, everywhere)”.
Total 100 students were attended the online webinar  .

Day : 2 (12/10/2020)
In this occasion we conducted poster competition through online which was depicted or showed the views of mental health and awareness of the disease condition. Total 30 students actively participated  in the competition and presented their posters. There was a  very tough competition between the students and also 59 students were visited  and given posters feedback comments in google class room. The Most of the posters had a positive impact on the viewers having behind the ways or techniques how they can manage the mental ill patients .
 Dr.Gourav srivastava , Psychiatrist, Dept Of Psychiatric , CSSH, SVSU Meerut and Mrs.Sreeja , Senior Tutor, 2nd Incharge Of  Nursing Education ,Central institute of psychiatry, Ranchi, Jharkhand. we made as a judges for poster presentation.

  1. Finally the judges selected best three posters for best poster for award and selected three best posters to be awarded with  e- certificate.

1.Ms.Tanishka Saini, Bsc(N) 3rd year  – 1st prize
2.Ms.Swati Phaugat , Bsc(N) 3rd year  – 2nd prize,
3.Ms.Taniya smith, Bsc(N) 3rd year  -3rd prize.

Mrs.Sreeja , Senior Tutor, 2nd Incharge Of  Nursing Education and Dr.Joydeep Das Clinical Psychologist, ,Central institute of psychiatry, Ranchi, Jharkhand,  They explained “ how to manage the stressful situation  and how to maintained the mental health for all” and also they have given reports, incidence& causes of the mental health issues in society.
In this occasion Asst. Lectures Ms.Soumya and Mr.Akansh ,they made good group discussion with our students . Total 100 students were attended the webinar .

Day:3(13/10/2020):
Department of  Mental health nursing has conducted health talk to patients and their relatives regarding management and prevention of mental ill and creating of a supportive environment in OPD and Psychiatric wards.

Mrs.Sreeja , Senior Tutor, 2nd Incharge Of  Nursing Education and Dr.Joydeep Das Clinical Psychologist, ,Central institute of psychiatry, Ranchi, Jharkhand,  They explained “ how to manage the stressful situation  and how to maintained the mental health for all” and also they have given reports, incidence& causes of the mental health issues in society.
In this occasion Asst. Lectures Ms.Soumya and Mr.Akansh ,they made good group discussion with our students . Total 100 students were attended the webinar .

Day : 5 (15/10/2020)

  1. On the Eve of Mental Health week 2020, Essay Competition was held on 15.10.2020 from 8am to 3 pm. Invitation for the competition was prepared and was circulated to the students. Mr.Madhan Kumar, Senior
    Nurse I, Institute of Mental Health, Singapore had iaccepted to be the judge of this competition.
  2. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition.
  3. Theme of the competition: Mental Health for All – Greater Investment, Greater Access”
  4. Total number of studentsstudents participated : 60
  5. The Judge has gone through all the writings and selected three best writings to be awarded with  e- certificate.

The winners are as follows:
1st place – Ms.Himani Singh, B.Sc III yr
2nd place – Ms.Shivani Pal, B.Sc II yr
3rd place – Ms. Swati Phaugat, B.SC III yr
Mrs.DarlinPriyaJensi. J,Asst. Lecturer, MHN, PDMNSC, has arranged the Essay Competition .

Day : 6 (16/10/2020)
Mrs.Cibi Paul, M.Sc(N) , Associate Professor & Incharge of Dept of Psychiatry, MOSC college of Nursing , Kollam, Kerala. She has given lecturer regarding theme of mental health day. She explained about “a young society  goes through , when he/she fails to maintain an effective balance between the family and other responsibility. Asso. Prof .Mr.Arun.R and Asst.Prof .Mrs.Nisha.G , Dept of psychiatry, both  has taken entire programme  for  world health day.
Finally Asst .Prof .Mrs.Nisha.G  and  Asst.Lect .Ms.Soumya , has given vote of  thanks to all our speakers and participants . The  speakers also extended the gratitude to Ex.Cap. Prof.Dr.Geeta parwanda (Principal PDMSNC)  and  Mr.Arun.R  (HOD of Psychiatric nursing).
