On the Occasion of “No Smoking Day” a workshop was organised by the Department of Community Medicine with the collaboration of National Tobacco Control cell Meerut District.
The Workshop was inaugurated by Principal of Subharti Medical College Dr Pardeep Bharti, Vice principal Dr. Satyam Khary, Head of dept. Community medicine Dr Bhawana Pant, Mr Mohit Bharadwaj NCD program coordinator.Mr Surjit Singh coordinator NTCP program was Chief Speaker. He talked about the effects of smoking on the human body . He also suggested the Cigarette and other tobacco products act 2003 (COTPA Act -2003). Dr. Vibha Nagar told about the relationship between smoking behaviour and mental health.Psychiatrist social worker Dr. Vinita Sharma suggested that smoking significantly increases the risk of major depression including difficulties and stress within the social environment. Dr. Rahul Bansal, Dr. Pawan Parashar, Dr. Varsha Chaudhary, Dr Anuradha Dave, Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr Saurabh Sharma, Dr. Sartaj Ahmad, Dr.Kaynat Nasser , Dr.Rijul Ranjan, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr.Anshul , Dr Gopi Raman, Interns and students of MBBS 2021were present in the workshop. Dr Chhavi Kiran Gupta was the moderator of the workshop.
