Sports Activities by the Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication

Sports Activities were conducted by the Deptt of Journalism and Mass Communication on 22nd Feb, 2024

A sports activity was successfully conducted by Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut to revive the sportsmanship inside students. The activity was organized in the General Mohan Singh Play Ground of the University. In this activity, initially ‘Tug of war’ and ‘Kho-Kho’ games were played by the students.

In the starting of the activity, the Head of the Department Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi praised everyone for their initiative towards sports. He said  that it will improve physical strength as well as  maintain mental health and overall persona.

Firstly, two separate teams of Men and women category were made to play ‘Tug of war’. The men’s team headed by Harshit included Nitesh, Divyanshu, Mohit and  won the event  by 2-1 points from a team headed by Prajjwal including Monu, Vansh, and Suman. The women category team lead by Teena Soam including Anushka, Varsha, Manisha, Laiba, Anjali and Garima won by 3-0 points from another team headed by Astha including Bhumi, Bharti, Sumaiya, Sugandhi, Apurva and Simran.

Later, a combined team of Boys and Girls including 11-11 members was made to play Kho-Kho game. The team headed by Teena Soam with Harshit, Anushka, Divyanshu, Prajjwal, Monu, Varsha, Sugandhi, Apurva, Manisha and Anjali won from the second team headed by Laiba Taskin including Astha, Bharti, Bhumi, Suman, Vansh, Mohit, Garima, Sumaiya, Nitesh, and Simran.

At the end, Head of the department Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Thaledi praised everyone for being a part of these wonderful activities. During the occasion, Mr Madhur Sharma Sports coordinator and Ms Preeti Singh, Assistant Professors were present and conducted the events successfully. Mr Shikeb Majeed, Research Scholar was also present during the occasion.
