Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized a webinar on the topic of building materials

Meerut, on the 24th of October,2020, Interior design dept. of Subharti College of Fine Arts and
Fashion Design, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized a webinar on the topic of building materials and acoustics, by the two highly qualified and esteemed professors of renowned universities.

The webinar was started by (Prof.) Ar. Abhishek Singh Chauhan, who is currently serving at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida and is the founder of the new innovation in the form of fusion electronics and architecture that not only develop the architectural future but also help mankind in evolution.

He calls this innovation ‘Genrev Architronics’.

Prof. Singh introduced the most important topic “Acoustics”, that plays a major role in interior design. Acoustics also enhance our daily life. He outlined the minute details of acoustics using examples of certain auditoriums and the Walt Disney concert hall, designed by Mr.

Frank Gehry. He ended the session by giving a brief of his research work done on the problems faced in sound during online classes/webinars during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The next half of the session was carried by Prof. Shubham Chitransh who is currently serving in MITS Gwalior while pursuing his PhD. He explained the basic materials that are used in building construction like lime, sand and cement. He explained the manufacturing process of these materials, their properties and their nature after being used as a construction material. Prof. Shubham shared beautiful and well-aticulated illustrations to walk us through the process and various uses of these materials in the construction process.

The whole session was truly informative and listeners gained a lot through this session.

towards the end Dr. Kavita Gupta, organizer, HOD of the Interior design department thanked the esteemed speakers who gave us their valuable time from their busy schedule and made the session so informative.
Dr. Kavita further added that the department of Interior design was thankful to our Hon’ble VC – Prof. (Dr.) V.P.Singh for giving an opportunity to connect with the speakers.

She also mentioned the other team members – Ar. Aishwarya Rastogi and Er. Shailja Sindhay without whom the session wouldn’t have been possible.
