Celebration of Teachers Day (5th September 2023)
Teachers’ day was successfully celebrated on 5th September 2023 in the Department of Library and Information Science. The students actively participated in the celebration. The programme started with welcoming the faculty members of the department and presenting them a bouquet by the students. The student and staff shared their views and experience by giving speech.
Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, HOD, Department of Library and Information Science gave a motivational speech on the theme of ‘Teachers Day’. He said, In India, 5th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a staunch believer of education and a well known diplomat, visionary, statesman, scholar, President of India and above all a perfect Teacher.
A lecture on “Role of Teacher in Shaping Tomorrow” was delivered by Dr. Sapna Sharma on this occasion. The whole function was hosted by Ms. Aashu in planned way. All students of BLIS & MLIS were present. The gratitude and appreciation was expressed by the students for their teachers. Students presented Song, bhajans, Poem and Dances etc. all dedicated to respected teachers. It was truly a memorable day for the teachers and students of Library and Information Science.
