The Value Added Course of “Makeover and Tonsorial” was organized at Shaheed Baba Deep Singh, Department of Home Science on 20th February. Makeover is an essential part of life nowadays for everyone as we need presentable looks during our interviews, meetings, at workplace as well as on our family/friends get together and outings. Considering this concept a value-added course under topic “Makeover and Tonsorial” was started on 20th February in the Home Science department for all students under course coordinator Ms. Swati Sharma. The first day first session was taken by Ms. Vanshika Gulati, who herself is an alumnus of Lakme Academy and a freelancer makeup artist. She was accompanied by her two helpers and complete studio setup and makeup kit. Ms. Vanshika Gulati was welcomed by head Dr. Nishma Singh by giving planter to her and at this occasion other faculty members as Dr. Shalu Nehra, Ms. Virender Pal Kaur and Ms. Urvashi Sharma graced the session with their presence. During the session the basic makeover tips and techniques were delivered by Ms. Vanshika Gulati to students where one student of the department herself posed as a model for makeover. The main aim of the training session was to develop work entrepreneurship skills and competency through comprehensive action orientation by inculcating grooming skills among students. Students attended the session in large numbers with zeal and enthusiasm. Their queries related to basic makeover for daily routine was solved by the guest speaker.
