The Mental Health Nursing department at Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, in collaboration with Pyare Lal Sharma District Hospital, Sanskriti De-addiction Center & Chatarpati Shivaji Subharti Hospital Meerut, organized a successful World No Tobacco Day. Various health awareness events held under the guidance of Dr. Geeta Parwnada Dean & Principal in Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College Subharti University, aimed to raise awareness about No Tobacco use.

Activity 1 A Guest Lecture on No Tobacco Day was organized at Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College with the collaboration of Chatarpati Shivaji SubhartiHospital conducted by Mental Health Nursing Department. The programme was initiated with the introduction about the World No Tobacco Day and welcoming of the guest speakers by Prof Ambli Mam and distribution of the sapling to the guest speakers by Prof Ambli and Asso Prof  Deepak Gupta. The programme further went with lamp lightning ceremony. Then the first speaker Dr. Ritika, Senior Resident, SMC was welcomed to the stage for the guest lecture where she enthusiastically explained about the theme and explained in detail about tobacco use, ill effects of tobacco use and treatment available. After that the second guest speaker Dr. Swaleha, Asst. Prof. SMC, also welcomed to the stage, she has also put great emphasis on World No Tobacco Day. Then questioning sessions was conducted to clear students doubts. Vote of thanks delivered by Asst. Prof. Shivani.

Activity 2- Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College students actively participated in role play session, health talk and oath taking. They portrayed various scenarios related to No tobacco use, emphasizing the challenge and illness faced by individuals with tobacco abuse. The students provide valuable health education to the peoples. The event was graced by several esteemed guests including Medical Superintendent Dr. Kaushlender, Dr. Kamlendra & Dr. Vinita, Dr. Kamlendra delivered an informative speech on No Tobacco Use and harmful effects of tobacco, shedding light on the prevalence, impact, and available treatment. Approximately 150 attendees, including faculty members, nursing students, hospital staff and peoples to attend this program.

Activity 3- Students of GNM I Year of Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College has performed a role play on World No tobacco day at the Sanskriti De addiction centre. Programme started by welcoming of Mr. Deepak, Directer of Sanskriti De-addiction centre followed by performing role play and delivering health education to patients and attendants. Nearly 85 attendees were present during the programme.

Activity 4-Anhealth awareness activity was also organized in Chatarpati Shivaji Subharti Hospital Meerut, nursing students actively participated in role play and provided health education on World no tobacco Day to promote awareness. Dr. Ritika, Dr. Divyajeet and Dr. Swleha were also part of the program. During the role play Dr. Ritika provided information about no tobacco use to the patients and peoples.

Activity 5- An Awareness activity on World No Tobacco Day was conducted at MR School, Partapur, where Specially abled students made craft and recreational activity on the no tobacco use with the help of our Nursing students.

Assistant professor Mrs. Gunjali, Assistant professor Mrs. Shivani, Assistant professor Mr. Saral, Assistant Lecturer Mr. Gaurank and Assistant Lecturer Mrs. Priya Bharadwaj played pivotal roles in organizing and executing the various events. Their dedication ensured the program’s success.

This program successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Geeta Parwanda Dean & Principal, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s outcome, emphasizing the need for continued awareness campaigns to reduce tobacco usage and promote health & well being.
