Youth Parliament 2022

The Moot Court Association and Literary Club in collaboration with two students of 7th Sem- Himanshu  Panwar and Anil Kishore organized the Swami Vivekanand Chhatra Sansad–2022.  This Competition was organized under Tarun Sabha, National Youth Parliament Scheme, Ministry of  Parliamentary Affairs during the Legal Literacy and Awareness Week-2022 The Competition was  conducted under the guidance of Dr. Reena Bishnoi (Convenor, Legal literacy and Awareness Week),  Ms.

Afreen Almas (Faculty Convener of MCA), and Ms. Ana Sisodia (Faculty Convener of Literary  Club). It was held from 23rd November 2022 to 24th November 2022.

This Competition was an Intra College Competition. 66 students participated in this Competition. The  leading agendas of the competition was as follows

  1. The Uniform Dress Code in Educational Institutions,
  2. Criminalisation of Indian Politics, and
  3. Privatization in India.
  • 22nd November 2022:

Training -cum-workshop was conducted to explain various procedures of conducting youth parliament  sittings. It was conducted by an organizing committee and faculty convenors.

23rd November 2022:

1) The programme began with a ‘Saraswati Vanada’, followed by auspicious lighting of the lamp by  Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Swami Vivekanand Subharti University) , Dean (Faculty of Law) and Maj.  Himanshu. Thereafter Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Swami Vivekanand Subharti University) and Maj.  Himanshu were welcomed by a plant tribute given by Dr. Reena Bishnoi and Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya  Dean (Faculty of Law). The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor motivated the students to participate in more such  activities. Even Dean Sir highlighted the benefits of such activities. Later judges of the event were  introduced

2) The Anchoring was done by Zoya Rao (Member of MCA)

3) The Judges for Chhatra Sansad were

1) Maj. Himanshu -Speaker

2) Ms. Bhawini Kaushalya (B.A.LL.B. 9th sem)– Deputy Speaker

3) Mr. Rishabh (B.A.LL.B. 9th Sem.)– Moderator.

4) The Oath for the Speaker was done by Ms. Ana Sisodia (Faculty Convener of the Literary Club)  and later the Speaker made all delegates take the oath.

5) The Session for the day started with a Discussion hour at 10:00 A.M. But before discussion hour  started there was an obituary reference made by the Speaker about the sad demise of Shri Maulayam  Singh Yadav, former MP from Mainpuri.

6) The Discussion Hour started on the Agenda- Criminalisation of Indian Politics and Uniform Dress  Code in Educational Institutions

7) The delegates were alloted the portfolios of the Opposition party or Ruling Party.  8) At 11:30 P.M., the Zero hour of 30 minutes took place where the participants discussed the issues  apart from the selected agenda.

9) At 2:45 P.M, The session for day one ended.

  • 24th November 2022:

1) The Session for the second day started at 10:00 P.M.

2) The topic for the Discussion Hour was Privatisation in India. Every Participant came with full  preparation and research.

3) At 11:00 P.M. There was a Question Hour, where any member from the opposition party can ask  any question from the Ruling Party. The Participants participated with great enthusiasm.  4) At 12:30 P.M. Approximately 6 bills were presented by the members of Parliament.  5) The Speaker passed the bill by asking the votes against the bill.

6) At 1:00 P.M. Session ended.

7) After this, at 1:30 p.m. the Dean-Faculty of Law, Dr. Vaibhav Goyal Bhartiya felicitated the   Speaker with a momento.

8) After this Major Himanshu encouraged and appreciated the participants. He said -“Youth should  take active part in democratic processes. This Parliament has been organized to ignite the spirit of  patriotism, sense of purpose in life. The youth should be at the vanguard of societal development.  The youth here should take this idea forward and join hands to increase awareness among people  at the grass-root level. The country can develop only with the participation of our energetic and  vibrant youth.” He also stressed, “Our youth must develop original thinking and shun the colonial  mindset.

9) After this, Mr. Himanshu Panwar (B.A.LL.B- 7th Sem.) gave a vote of thanks.

10) The Winners of the Competition were

  2. High Recommendation- Tejasvi Surya- Mukul Kumar (5th sem)
  3. Special Mention–I- P. Ravindranath – Paramjeet Singh Hudda (5th sem) 4. Special Mention-II-Dulal Chandra Goswami- Om Thakur (1st Sem)
  4. Special Mention–III– Nirmala Sitaraman- Palak Tyagi (1st sem)
  5. Verbal Mention–II- Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary- Karthik Sharma (1st sem)
