A workshop was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Subharti Medical College on 11th January 2020 at Council Hall, Subharti Medical College, and Meerut. The agenda of the workshop was “INTERPRETING THE MEDICAL STATISTICS IN CLINICAL AND PUBLIC HEALTH DECISION MAKING”. The workshop was accredited for 4 credit hours by UP Medical Council. The guest speaker of the workshop was Dr. R. M Pandey, Prof. & Head, Department of Biostatistics, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Total 78 participants registered with the workshop from various Medical Colleges like JNMC, AMU, Aligarh; GMC, Chandigarh; SGRRIM&HS, Dehradun; LLRM, Meerut; Muzaffarnagar Medical College, Muzaffarnagar, BRD, Gorakhpur; Rama Medical College, Hapur; Santosh Medical College, Gaziabad, MAMC, New Delhi.
Dr. R M Pandey gave a talk on the origin of P-value, statistics behind P-value, various interpretations of it, fallacies when only P value is considered in conclusions and the impotence of confidence interval and Effect size when the P-value is interpreted. Dr. Anuradha Dave the Organizing Secretary of the Workshop delivered a Vote of Thanks.
