Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of law, under the patronage of Hon’ble Dean, faculty of law, Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, commemorated National Youth day in the divine memory of Swami Vivekananda, which was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on 12th January 2022.
To venerate the birth anniversary of one of the greatest pioneers of this country, an awakening video on the “life and teachings of Swami Vivekanand” was presented by Ms. Ana Sisodia, Assistant Professor. In the video, Vivekananda’s ideas and principles on which he based his ideal model of education and spirituality were emphasized.
Dr. Reena Bishnoi, Associate Professor, highlighted the importance of responsibilities in an individual’s life which was the core of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and principles. She said that Vivekananda believed that “education is the manifestation of perfection already in men” which is directly reflected in the Indian Constitution too.
Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor, stated that it was unfortunate that the existing system of education did not enable a person to stand on his own feet, nor did it teach him self-confidence and self-respect. However, certain hopes have developed through the NEP-2020. She also said that character building along with service to the nation was highlighted as the true meaning of education.
The concluding remark was delivered by the revered Dean, Faculty of Law, Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya. He highlighted the importance of a teacher’s character for his/her development. He also stated that the cause of all the miseries we have in the world is that men foolishly think pleasure to be the ideal to strive for. After a time man finds that it is not happiness, but knowledge, towards which he is going, and that both pleasure and pain are great teachers, and that he learns as much from evil as from good. As pleasure and pain pass before his soul they leave upon it different pictures, and the result of these combined impressions is what is called man’s “character.”
