India is a land of high species richness and endemism as well as agrobiodiversity. India with only 2.4% of the world’s landmass supports an astounding 8.1% of the world’s biodiversity. Deforestation at an alarming rate is not only a serious concern but also a threat to the survival of humankind.
Therefore at Subharti Medical College, we addressed the serious issue of deforestation by a plantation drive in the parking area of Subharti Medical College on 24/07/2021. Various departments of medical Colleges and hospitals planted not only medicinal plants but also fruit-bearing & ornamental plants with full zeal and enthusiasm. This plantation drive is in accordance with Subharti’s environmentally eco-friendly motto “GO GREEN”. The function was concluded with group photographs. Here in Subharti we strongly believe in the below-mentioned lines.
