Report of Yoga Workshop on the Theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”
A vibrant and insightful Yoga Workshop on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” was successfully organized by the Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (MASCHNYS), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut.
The workshop was conducted on 19 June 2026 at the Meditation Hall, 6th Floor, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism & Mass Communication. The primary objective of the program was to create awareness about the significant role of yoga in promoting healthy ageing and enhancing the overall quality of life among older adults.
The session emphasized the importance of adopting a holistic lifestyle through yogic practices to maintain physical vitality, mental well-being, and emotional balance throughout the ageing process. Participants were introduced to a variety of yoga techniques, including asanas, pranayama, meditation, relaxation practices, and mindfulness exercises, specifically designed to support healthy ageing.
The resource person provided valuable insights into age-related physiological and psychological changes and explained how regular yoga practice can contribute to improved flexibility, balance, strength, respiratory function, sleep quality, and cognitive health. Special emphasis was placed on the prevention and management of lifestyle disorders commonly associated with ageing, such as hypertension, diabetes, stress, obesity, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Practical demonstrations enabled participants to experience simple yet effective yogic practices that can be safely incorporated into daily routines. The session was interactive, engaging, and highly informative, inspiring participants to embrace yoga as a lifelong companion for healthy and graceful ageing.
