Deeksharambh organized by Subharti Law College for Batch-2026
Day-1 of Deeksharambh Programme was organized to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and to facilitate their smooth transition into university life. The programme aimed to acquaint students with the academic environment, institutional values, discipline, student support systems, research opportunities, and their responsibilities as members of the university community. The programme commenced at 11:00 a.m. with the welcome of the distinguished guests by a team of students (Ms. Srishti Sirohiand Ms. Akshdeep Kaur). The students extended a warm and respectful welcome to the dignitaries and guests present on the occasion. The ceremonial lamp lighting was conducted by the esteemed guests at 11:02 a.m., symbolizing the illumination of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. This was followed by the Welcome and Introductory
Address by Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, Dean, Faculty of Law who welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and newly admitted students and highlighted the importance of beginning university life with commitment, discipline, and a positive attitude.
Thereafter, Dr. Afreen Almas presented an overview of the Student Induction Programme and explained its objectives. She emphasized that the programme was designed to familiarize students with the university environment, academic expectations, institutional facilities, values, and opportunities available for their overall development.
The programme was further enriched by the address of Prof. (Dr.) Tarak Nath Prasad, Head, Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities, who introduced students to the importance of interdisciplinary learning and the role of humanities and liberal arts in developing a broad and balanced perspective.
Prof. (Dr.) Sartaj Ahmad, Dean, Student Welfare, addressed the students and highlighted the various student welfare initiatives and support mechanisms available at the University. He encouraged students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, cultural, and social activities.
The Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, subsequently addressed the students and encouraged them to make effective use of the academic and institutional opportunities provided by the University. The address emphasized excellence, discipline, professional competence, and holistic development.
The inaugural programme was concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Prem Chandra, Academic Coordinator. He expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, distinguished dignitaries, Deans, Heads, faculty members, officials, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the programme.
The second session of the Student Induction Programme was conducted from 11:30 A.M. to 01:00 P.M. and focused on introducing students to the University’s disciplinary framework, anti-ragging measures, administrative structure, and academic assessment system.From 11:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, Mr. Ashutosh and Mr. Harshit conducted a session on Discipline and Anti-Ragging. The students were sensitized about the importance of maintaining discipline, respectful behaviour, and a safe and harmonious campus environment. The speakers also explained the University’s zero-tolerance approach towards ragging and emphasized the responsibilities of students in preventing and reporting any such incidents. From 12:00 Noon to 12:30 P.M., Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi delivered a session on Introduction to University Authorities and Committees. She familiarized the newly admitted students with the University’s administrative structure, important authorities, and various committees established for academic, disciplinary, welfare, grievance redressal, and other institutional purposes. From 12:30 P.M. to 01:00 P.M., Dr. Afreen Almas conducted a session on Course Information and Assessment System. She provided students with an overview of their respective courses, academic requirements, assessment procedures, evaluation methods, attendance requirements, and other important academic expectations. Overall, the session was informative and interactive. It helped the newly admitted students understand the University’s rules and regulations, institutional structure, academic framework, and assessment system, thereby enabling them to begin their academic journey with greater clarity and confidence.
Day–2 of the Student Induction Programme was organized with a focus on gender sensitization, institutional awareness, mental well-being, and responsible professional and digital conduct. The sessions were designed to help students understand their rights and responsibilities and to develop appropriate personal and professional values. From 11:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi conducted a session on Gender Sensitization Awareness and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH). She sensitized students about gender equality, respectful behaviour, prevention of sexual harassment, and the importance of maintaining a safe, inclusive, and dignified environment. The students were also made aware of the institutional mechanism for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment. From 11:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, Dr. Sarika Tyagi delivered a session on Introduction to College Authorities and Committees. She familiarized the students with the administrative structure of the College and explained the roles and functions of various authorities and committees. The session helped students understand the appropriate institutional channels available for academic, administrative, grievance, disciplinary, and welfare-related matters. From 12:00 Noon to 12:30 P.M., Dr. Seema Sharma, SMC, delivered a lecture on Positive Mental Well-being. The session highlighted the importance of maintaining emotional balance, developing a positive outlook, managing academic pressures, and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships. Students were encouraged to seek appropriate support whenever required and to give due importance to their overall well-being. From 12:30 P.M. to 01:00 P.M., Mr. Ashutosh Deshwal and Mr. Harshit Day conducted a session on Social Media Conduct, Digital Ethics, Court Decorum and Professional Responsibility. The students were sensitized about responsible use of social media, digital etiquette, privacy, appropriate online behaviour, and the consequences of irresponsible digital conduct. The speakers also emphasized the importance of maintaining proper decorum in courts and developing professional ethics and responsible conduct as future legal professionals. The sessions successfully addressed important aspects of students’ personal development, institutional awareness, mental well-being, digital responsibility, and professional ethics. The programme helped students understand that academic excellence must be complemented by respect, discipline, ethical conduct, emotional well-being, and professional responsibility.
Day-3 of the Student Induction Programme was organized with a blend of cultural engagement, academic orientation, institutional best practices, and career guidance. The sessions were designed to encourage students’ creativity, develop their academic skills, familiarize them with institutional practices, and provide insights into career opportunities in the legal profession. From 11:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., a Cultural Talent Performance comprising Extempore and Fun Games was organized by the Cultural Committee, with the active participation of Ms. Sonal Jain, Ms. Manshi, and Ms. Shalini. The activities provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, creativity, confidence, spontaneity, and communication skills. The session also promoted interaction and camaraderie among the newly admitted students.From 11:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, Mr. Parth Melhotra delivered a lecture on “How to Make Memorials/Case Comments.” He introduced students to the basic structure, methodology, research techniques, and presentation skills required for preparing effective memorials and case comments. The session was particularly useful in developing students’ legal research, analytical, drafting, and argumentative abilities. From 12:00 Noon to 12:30 P.M., Ms. Shivani conducted a session on University Best Practices. She familiarized students with the University’s academic and institutional practices and highlighted the importance of discipline, participation, professionalism, and utilization of the facilities and opportunities provided by the University. From 12:30 P.M. to 01:00 P.M., Mr. Arshad Alam delivered a session on Career in the Legal Profession. He provided students with valuable insights into various career avenues available after pursuing legal education, including litigation, judicial services, corporate legal practice, legal consultancy, academia, legal research, and other emerging areas. The session encouraged students to identify their interests and plan their professional careers from the early stages of their legal education. The programme concluded from 01:00 P.M. to 01:05 P.M. with the Vote of Thanks and Closure of the Programme delivered by Mr. Anurag Chaudhary. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, committee members, resource persons, and students for their valuable contribution and active participation in making the programme successful. The sessions provided students with a comprehensive learning experience and encouraged them to participate actively in academic and co-curricular activities. The programme concluded on a positive and motivating note, leaving students better prepared for their academic journey and future careers in the legal profession.
