Report on Fresher’s Day – Aarambh 2025

Objective

The primary objective of Fresher’s Day Aarambh 2025 was to welcome the new batch of first-year students into the college community and provide them a platform to showcase their talents, interact with seniors and faculty, and foster a sense of belonging, motivation, and enthusiasm for their academic journey.

Description of the Event

Fresher’s Day Aarambh 2025 was celebrated with great zeal and excitement. The event was hosted by students of the 2nd year and 4th year, while the first-year students participated as the main audience and performers. Anchoring was gracefully managed by Ms. Raushani Kumari (BHMCT 2nd year) and Ms. Lovely (BHMCT 2nd year), ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the program.

The cultural segment included:

  • Solo Singing performances by talented students.
  • Solo Dance presentations reflecting energy and creativity.
  • Group Dance performed with high coordination and enthusiasm.
  • Fun Games such as push-ups challenge and mimicry acts, adding humour and active participation.

A total of 40 students participated in the event, accompanied by 08 faculty members, who encouraged and appreciated the efforts of the students. With all the remaining students as audience.

Purpose of the Activity

  • To integrate the new students into the academic and cultural environment of the college.
  • To encourage interaction between juniors and seniors, promoting a spirit of teamwork.
  • To build confidence among students by providing them a stage to express their talents.
  • To develop organizational and leadership skills among hosting batches.

Outcome of the Activity

  • First-year students felt welcomed and connected with the institution.
  • Seniors demonstrated leadership and management skills through event coordination.
  • The event created an atmosphere of inclusivity, positivity, and cultural enrichment.
  • Faculty members appreciated the initiative, strengthening student–teacher bonding.

Best Mapping with Learning Outcomes

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Students worked collectively in organizing and participating.
  • Communication Skills: Anchoring, singing, dancing, and games improved verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Confidence Building: Stage exposure enhanced self-confidence among participants.
  • Leadership & Event Management: Hosting batches gained hands-on experience in event planning and execution.
  • Creativity & Innovation: Performances encouraged expression of creative talents.

Analysis of Participant Feedback

Feedback collected from participants indicated that:

  • The event was well-organized, lively, and enjoyable.
  • First-year students felt motivated and less anxious about their new environment.
  • Games and cultural programs were highlighted as the most engaging parts.
  • Many students suggested extending the duration of cultural activities in future editions.

Our Mapping Practice

The event was mapped against institutional practices of student engagement, experiential learning, and holistic development. It successfully aligned with the college’s vision of promoting academic learning along with extracurricular involvement.

Suggestions

  • More diverse activities such as skits or quizzes can be included.
  • Involve a larger number of first-year students in stage performances.
  • Arrange a photography and videography team to capture memories systematically.
  • Invite alumni as guests to motivate and inspire new students.
  • Extend the celebration to include an informal interaction session after performances.
