French and Korean Language Workshop 2025–26 Organized at SVSU

The Department of Languages, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University successfully organized the French and Korean Language Workshop 2025–26 for International Students of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University in collaboration with LeFrehindi and IKBCC on 17th December 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Conference Hall, Ground Floor, Faculty of Education, SVSU.

The programme commenced with an introduction to the growing relevance of foreign languages in higher education and global careers. The welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Rafat Khanam, Associate Professor of English and In-charge of English and Foreign Languages, Department of Languages, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. She stated that the French and Korean Language Workshop 2025–26 aims to introduce students to two globally significant languages- French and Korean Languages that open doors to international education, cultural exchange, and diverse career opportunities. She further stated that the Department of Languages reaffirms its commitment to multilingual competence, global exposure, and enhanced employability for students. She highlighted that during the academic session 2024–25, 25 students have been awarded French and Korean language certificates by the University, reflecting the success of the programme.

The workshop was graced with the presence of distinguished guests including Manav Sir, Senior Assistant Director, Mr. Manik Arora, Assistant Director, Mr. Kush Saroha, Senior Consultant, and Mr. Aas Mohammad, Internal Admission Counsellor, whose presence strengthened industry–academia collaboration and motivated students to explore global career opportunities.

An informative session on the French Language was conducted by Ms. Laya Menon from LeFrehindi, who discussed the scope, structure, and career prospects associated with learning French. This was followed by experience-sharing sessions by French language students Harleen and Charu. The participation of French students Vikhyat Singh, Palak, and Mohit further enriched the programme.

The Korean language session was addressed by Mr. Ayush Priyam, Korean Language Trainer from IKBCC, who spoke about the growing demand for Korean language skills worldwide. Aditi, a Korean language student, shared her learning experience, while other Korean students including Vanshika, Ishika, and others actively participated.

The programme also featured an address by Mr. Amit Kumar Verma from the Training and Placement Cell, who emphasized the importance of foreign language proficiency in enhancing students’ employability and career prospects. Students enthusiastically shared their valuable suggestions via online feedback link.

The workshop was organized under the noble guidance of Prof. Sudhir Tyagi, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, whose continued support has strengthened foreign language programmes at the University. The workshop was successfully conducted under the academic leadership of Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Department of Languages.

The master of ceremony, Ms. Vidhi Goswami, student of M.A. English II year glued the audience with her communicative skills and eloquence.

Faculty members including Ms. Sanya Agarwal and Ms. Preeti, along with students from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, CCS University, and international students from various streams of the University, actively participated in the workshop.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the Department of Languages, collaborating partners, trainers, Media Team, faculty members, and university staff for making the event a success.
