Report on Guest Lecture on Hospitality and its Importance in Today’s World
A Guest Lecture on the theme “Hospitality and its Importance in Today’s World” was organized by Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management (BCSCHM) on 8th October 2025 at the Multi-purpose Hall, BCSCHM. The session was graced by the presence of the distinguished speaker, Dr. Shambhu Nath Gautam, Principal, IHM Rohtak, who shared his vast knowledge and professional experiences with the students and faculty.
The lecture commenced with a warm welcome address by the organizers, followed by the formal introduction of the guest speaker. Dr. Gautam began his session by highlighting the evolving role of hospitality in the globalized world and its significance in creating cultural exchange, economic growth, and professional opportunities. He emphasized that hospitality is not merely about service, but about creating memorable experiences that foster trust, loyalty, and long-term relationships with guests.
He further discussed the current trends, challenges, and innovations in the hospitality industry, particularly in the post-pandemic era, where safety, sustainability, and technology have emerged as key factors. His interactive style encouraged students to ask questions and engage in meaningful discussions, which enriched the learning experience.
The session was attended by 66 students and 7 faculty members, making a total of 73 participants. The enthusiastic participation reflected the keen interest of the audience in understanding the real-time applications and relevance of hospitality across sectors such as hotels, tourism, events, airlines, and healthcare.
The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks, where the faculty expressed their gratitude to Dr. Gautam for delivering such an inspiring and insightful talk. Students shared positive feedback, noting that the session helped them gain clarity about the importance of hospitality in shaping careers and society at large.
