The Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized an insightful guest lecture on “Smart Textiles and Wearable Technology” at the Amrita Shergill Conference Hall. The lecture was attended by 60 students of the department.
The programme was organized under the guidance and inspiration of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Mittal and CEO Madam Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj. Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Dean and Principal, Faculty of Fine Arts, graced the occasion with his support and guidance. Dr. Neha Singh, Head, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, coordinated the programme.
The resource person, Dr. Pooja, Subject Matter Specialist – Home Science, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Muzaffarnagar-II, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut, delivered an engaging lecture on the emerging field of smart textiles and wearable technology. She introduced students to the integration of textiles with technology and highlighted contemporary applications and innovations that are transforming the fashion and textile industry.
The session provided students with valuable exposure to the interdisciplinary relationship between textiles, technology, sustainability and wearable solutions. Students actively participated in the session and interacted with the resource person, making the lecture highly informative and engaging.
The programme was supported by faculty members Ms. Shradha Yadav, Ms. Anisha Anand, Dr. Surabhi Das, Dr. Rashika Kashyap, Ms. Devsuni and Ms. Abhilasha Garg. Dr. Surabhi Das efficiently served as the anchor and host of the programme.
