The Students’ Council of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, in collaboration with Maharshi Aurobindo Subharti College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, successfully organized an Inter-College Yoga Competition to mark International Yoga Day 2026. A total of 31 students from various colleges of the university enthusiastically participated in the event and demonstrated excellence in different yogic practices and postures. The competition aimed to promote awareness about yoga among youth and encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. Rahul Bansal, Department of Community Medicine, Subharti Medical College, Meerut. In his address, he emphasized that yoga is the foundation of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and encouraged students to incorporate regular yoga practice into their daily lives. The event was graced by Dr. Nair Dhiren Ajit, Officiating Principal and Dean, Maharshi Aurobindo Subharti College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences; Prof. (Dr.) Sartaj Ahmad, Dean, Students’ Welfare; Dr. Seema Kaushik; and faculty members from various departments.
The judging panel comprised Prof. Dr. Manju Adhikari and Dr. Abhijeet K. B., who evaluated the performances of the participants.
In the competition, Somashree Das (BNYS) secured the First Prize, Pratibha (BNYS) won the Second Prize, and Harsh Dawooji from Subharti Dental College secured the Third Prize. Aditya and Soni Kumar, also from Subharti Dental College, were awarded Consolation Prizes.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Rahul Bansal was honored with a list Certificate of Honor in recognition of his inspiring guidance and gracious presence.
The successful organization of the event was supported by Students’ Council members Dr. Aastha Tyagi, Vipul Kumar Yadav, Harit Kumar, and Kashish.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vipul Kumar Yadav, who expressed gratitude to all guests, faculty members, and participants, and reiterated the commitment to making yoga an integral part of everyday life.
