National Doctor’s Day
National Doctor’s Day was celebrated in Subharti Medical College on 1st July 2022. The theme for this year’s celebration of National Doctor’s Day in India is “FAMILY DOCTOR’S ON THE FRONTLINE”. The theme highlights the contribution of doctors who treated the family as well as the whole community. Dr. Rahul Bansal HOD, Community Medicine SMC told that National Doctor’s Day celebration in India began in 1991on July 1st to honor Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr. B.C. Roy was a famous physician and freedom fighter from West Bengal. He also became the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 till his death in 1962. He practiced medicine with exceptional competence and compassion. Dr. Rahul Bansal explained that medicine is not only a ‘science’ but also ‘an art’ that needs a holistic approach. Dr. Krishnamurti DMS (CSSH) appreciated all doctors who are working in the hospital and community. Dr. Anand Shukla, Professor of pharmacology also delivered the speech. A Quiz competition was organized on the occasion. Dr. Y P Monga, Principal & Dean SMC, Dr. Satyam Khare, Vice Principal SMC, Dr. Pawan Parashar, MS (CSSH), Dr. Krishnamurti DMS (CSSH), Dr. Saurabh Sharma AMS (CSSH) and all head of departments, faculty members, senior residents, and junior residents participated in the event. Dr. Saniya was the master of ceremony. Dr. Sartaj Ahmad, Ms. Bushra Ansari, Mr. Shakeel, Mr. Zubair, Mr. Satish Kumar, Mr. Kuldeep, and others helped in the program.
