‘Run for Swadeshi’ Organized on National Youth Day at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
On the occasion of National Youth Day, a “Run for Swadeshi” program was successfully organized on 12 January 2026 at the General Mohan Singh Subharti Sports Ground of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. The event, a 5-kilometer run and motivational activity, was organized by the Department of Physical Education.
The objective of the program was to promote the spirit of Swadeshi, nation-building, and the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, along with encouraging physical fitness, discipline, and patriotic values among the youth.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pramod Kumar Sharma, in his address, described the teachings of Swami Vivekananda as a guiding force for the youth. He emphasized that physically fit and mentally strong youth form the foundation of a strong nation and urged students to adopt Swadeshi and actively contribute to national development.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Krishna Murthy, Executive Officer of the University, also addressed the gathering and called upon the youth to adopt Swadeshi products and play an active role in nation-building. He encouraged students to preserve Indian culture and values and to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
On this occasion, Prof. Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, motivated the participants to remain health-conscious and promote the use of Swadeshi products.
The program was attended by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head, Department of Physical Education; Dr. Amit Kumar, NSS Coordinator; DSW Sartaj Sir; Dr. Renu Mavi; Dr. Monica Malhotra, University Program Coordinator; Dr. Indra, Head, Department of Education, along with Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members from various departments of the University.
A large number of students participated enthusiastically in the run along with NSS, NCC, and other cadets.
The event was successfully organized by the Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. At the end of the program, the organizers expressed their gratitude to all guests, officials, faculty members, and participating students.
