Street Play “The Voice of Equality”

The Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, under the aegis of the Women Empowerment Committee and Gender Sensitization Cell, successfully organized a street play (Nukkad Natak) on the theme “The Voice of Equality” on 15 December 2025 at Bal Kalyankari Shiv Shiksha Sadan Inter College, Ghat, Meerut. The programme was conducted as an Extension Activity.

The activity was aligned with SDG-5 (Gender Equality), SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG-16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and was successfully completed with the cooperation of all.

The objective of the street play was to create awareness among students and the community about women’s education, gender equality, women empowerment, moral values, and social justice. The performance effectively conveyed the message of equal rights and equal opportunities through a creative and participatory approach.

On this occasion, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma and CEO Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj extended their best wishes to the students.

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, appreciated the programme and highlighted its relevance to the theme.

Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh, Head, Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, Meerut, emphasized the importance of such extension activities in bringing positive social change and congratulated the Event Coordinator and Student Coordinators for the successful organization of the programme.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, Professor, and Prof. (Dr.) Manju Adhikari, along with other faculty members of the Department of Education.

The street play was coordinated by Dr. Ragini Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Department of Education. B.Ed. second-year students presented the street play, and Apurva, Chhoti, Renu Shankar, Sonali, Satyam, and Mohammad Dulare highlighted the issue of women’s equality through their impactful acting, making the performance highly effective.

Mr. Yogendra Pal, Principal of Bal Kalyankari Shiv Shiksha Sadan Inter College, shared his views and congratulated the organizing team and students for the successful presentation. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Roopam Jain.
