Igniting the Spirit of Research: Department of Physical Education Joins Nationwide ANRF Live Session
Meerut, 31 July 2026: In pursuance of the directive received from the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, the Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a group viewing of the MIC-Driven Activity titled “Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in HEIs: ANRF’s Vision, Priorities, and Support Framework” through live streaming in the department seminar hall. The session, originally scheduled for 30th July 2026, was rescheduled and successfully held on Friday, 31st July 2026, at 11:30 AM IST, with Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, Chief Executive Officer, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), as the esteemed speaker. All faculty members and students of the Department of Physical Education attended the live streaming with keen interest, including Dr. Manju Adhikari (Head of Department), Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dr. Deepak Raghav, Dr. Nishant Kumar, Dr. Ankit Singh Jadon, Dr. Atul Tiwari, Mr. Sharad Panwar, and Ms. Deepanshu Choudhary, alongside enthusiastic student participants. During the session, Dr. Kalyanaraman provided a comprehensive overview of ANRF’s vision, mission, key priorities, and flagship programmes, while elaborating on the research funding opportunities and support mechanisms available for Higher Education Institutions, faculty members, researchers, innovators, and startups across the country. The participants gained valuable insights into strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem and learned how ANRF’s initiatives could be effectively leveraged to promote high-impact research and translational innovation within academic institutions. The session proved highly enriching for the faculty and students of the department, motivating them to actively explore emerging research funding avenues and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s evolving research and innovation landscape. The programme concluded with a collective appreciation of ANRF’s efforts in fostering a robust research culture across Higher Education Institutions in India, reaffirming the Department of Physical Education’s continued commitment to promoting a strong culture of research, innovation, and institutional excellence in line with the vision of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell.
