Three-Day Workshop on Power BI
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Three-Day Workshop on “Power BI: Data Analytics and Interactive Dashboard Development.” The workshop aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, and interactive dashboard development.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Saurav Gupta, Data Science & AI/ML Professional, who provided hands-on training through practical demonstrations and real-world examples.
During Day 1, participants learned Power BI fundamentals, data connection, Power Query, data cleaning, transformation, and data modeling, including the creation of a basic Star Schema.
Day 2 focused on DAX, business KPIs, data visualization, and interactive dashboard development using slicers, filters, drill-through, bookmarks, and other Power BI features.
On Day 3, participants explored Power BI Service, report publishing, sharing, refreshing, and security, followed by a hands-on Retail Sales Dashboard capstone project.
Outcome
The workshop enhanced participants’ practical skills in data preparation, data modeling, DAX, visualization, and interactive dashboard development, enabling them to transform real-world data into meaningful business insights and industry-oriented Power BI reports.
