Students learned techniques of Audio-visual Productions

The Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (GSVSDJMC) at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a one-day workshop on Audio Visual Production on February 5, 2026. The event, held at the department’s state-of-the-art Audio Visual Production Lab, aimed to equip students with practical skills in modern media production techniques.

The workshop targeted students from the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BAJMC) and Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (MAJMC) programs. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions covering key aspects of audio-visual content creation, including camera operations, lighting, sound recording, editing software, and storytelling through visual media. The interactive format allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real lab environment, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry demands.

The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam, Associate Professor at GSVSDJMC. With his extensive experience in media education and research interests in health communication and global development, Dr. Gautam delivered insightful sessions, sharing industry best practices and emerging trends in audio-visual production. His guidance emphasized technical proficiency alongside creative and ethical considerations in media content creation.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Tarun Jain, Assistant Professor in the department. Under his efficient organization, the workshop ran smoothly, fostering active participation and meaningful discussions among attendees. Faculty and students alike praised the session for its relevance in preparing aspiring journalists and media professionals for the dynamic digital landscape.

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University continues to prioritize skill-based training through such initiatives at GSVSDJMC, which is renowned for blending academic rigor with practical media training. This workshop aligns with the department’s mission to produce competent professionals ready to meet the evolving needs of the journalism and mass communication industry.

Students expressed enthusiasm about the practical exposure, noting that it enhanced their confidence in handling audio-visual equipment and production workflows. The department plans to organize more such specialized workshops to further enrich the learning experience.
