The Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized a one-day workshop on “Online Platforms for Professional Image Building” on February 11, 2026. The workshop was designed for students, faculty members, and staff with the objective of enhancing their understanding of digital presence and personal branding in the contemporary media landscape.
The session was conducted under the direction of Prof. Ritesh Chaudhary, Head of the Department, who emphasized the growing importance of maintaining a credible and consistent professional identity across digital platforms. In his inaugural address, he highlighted that in the era of digital journalism and communication, online reputation plays a crucial role in career advancement and networking.
The workshop featured insightful sessions by resource persons Professor Monika Mehrotra and Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam. They elaborated on strategies for effective profile creation on platforms such as LinkedIn, professional use of social media, content curation, and maintaining ethical standards in digital communication. The speakers also guided participants on optimizing online portfolios, building authentic engagement, and safeguarding digital footprints.
Prof. RP Singh shared his views on the significance of image building, stating that professional success today depends not only on academic excellence but also on how individuals present themselves in the digital domain. He encouraged students to use online platforms responsibly and strategically to showcase their skills and achievements.
The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Tarun Jain, who ensured smooth execution of the program. Faculty members including Professor Ashok Tyagi, Dr. Ashutosh Verma, Ram Prakash Tiwari, and Ms. Shelly Sharma were also present and actively participated in the discussions.
