World Anaesthesia Day Observed with Quiz and Poster Competitions at Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare
Meerut: The Department of Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Subharti College of Allied and Healthcare (SCAH), Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, observed World Anaesthesia Day on 16 October 2026 by organizing a Quiz Competition and a Poster Competition under the aegis of the Literacy Club. The programme was held at 2:00 P.M. in Classroom-01, 6th Floor, SCAH, and was open to all students of the Bachelor’s and Diploma programmes in Operation Theatre Technology, along with the faculty members of the department.
The activities were designed to strengthen academic engagement, promote awareness of the discipline of anaesthesia, and encourage students to communicate clinical and scientific concepts through collaborative and creative learning. Students participated with considerable enthusiasm and demonstrated commendable subject knowledge, teamwork, and creativity.
In the Quiz Competition, Team A emerged as the winner. In the Poster Competition, the first position was secured by the team of Farhat, Riya, and Aashi (Code-09) of B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology (BOTT) and B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology Honours in Anaesthesiology (BOTT-HA), 3rd Year. The second position was awarded to Muskan and Asif (Code-01) of BOTT, 3rd Year, while the third position was secured by Sheeba and Karina (Code-08) of BOTT-HA, 2nd Year.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Umesh Kumar, Dr. Anshu Kumar Singh, Dr. Meenakshi Mishra, Mr. Akash Kumar, Mr. Rahul, Mr. Sachin, Mr. Ritik, and Muhammad Zubair, along with other faculty members and students. The faculty congratulated the winners and all participants and emphasized the importance of such academic initiatives in nurturing scientific temperament, professional awareness, and a culture of lifelong learning among future healthcare professionals.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Sanyam Thakur, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Nikhil Kumar, Demonstrator, under the guidance of Dr. Pankaj Kishor Mishra, HOD/Principal.
