61st All India Music and Dance Competition by Prayag Sangeet Samiti
The students of Department of Music and Dance, Faculty of Fine Arts, Subharti University participated enthusiastically in the 61st All India Music and Dance Competition organized by Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj in the memory of Deshraj Dr. Major Ranjit Singh and won many prizes.
This seven-day competition is organized every year at this time in Prayagraj and many participants from all over the country take part in it.
Aliya Khan, a student of Music Department of Subharti University, presented delayed Khayal, Drut Khayal and Tarana in Raag Vrindavani Sarang in general category Ha Khayal singing and got first prize in both by presenting Bhajan Ab Mori Rakho Laj Hari.Alima Khan performed Thumri/ Received first prize by presenting in Dadra Balam Tere Jhagde. Nachiketa Sharma won the second prize by presenting Raag Bhupali in the singing class The Khayal and Riya Mahrotra won the second prize in the Kathak dance class starting with Saraswati Vandana and dancing to Taal Pancham Sawari. On the seventh day of the competition, the prize distribution ceremony of all the competitions was held at the Mehta Auditorium of Prayag Sangeet Samiti. G.K. Thapliyal, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj, Principal Dr. Pintu Mishra congratulated the Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Bhavna Grover and all the winners encouraged them to continue increasing the prestige of the university in the upcoming competitions. Did . Subharti University always encourages its students for such competitions so that the name of Subharti and Meerut will always get fame. Other members of the department Dr. Shweta Chowdhary, Dr. Indresh Mishra, Ms. Tanushree Kashyap, Mrs. Nishi Chauhan, Mrs. Shweta Singh, Mr. Abhishek Mishra and Mr. Mehraj Khan all cooperated in the preparation of this competition.
