The Gender Sensitivity and POSH Awareness Workshop in collaboration with the National Commission for Women and Yuvamanthan was organized on 16th May 2025 in Satyajeet Ray Auditorium, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, meerut.
The program was graced by Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women. She was the chief guest of the event. Other guests of the program were Shri Ramavatar Singh, Principal Private Secretary, NCW and Mr. Nitin Agarwal, Director, Yuvamanthan.
The Inaugural session started at 10:30 AM with the lamp lighting and felicitation of the dignitaries by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Major General (Dr.) G. K. Thapliyal and Respected CEO, Dr. Shalya Raj. The welcome address was delivered by VC Sir. The inaugural session started with the Keynote address and interaction with students by the Mrs. Vijaya Rahatkar. She enlightened the gathering and her address focused on the roles and importance of IC, POSH Act and POCSO Act. Madam administered an oath to the gathering that they would adhere to the POSH Act and to gender sensitivity. The campus calling started at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. Four students (Devika Singh, BA 4th semester, Ashi MA 2nd semester., Om Thakur B.A.L.L.B. 3rd year, Syed Hammad Zafar B.A.L.L.B. 2nd year) were nominated as campus Ambassador. The first session ends with a vote of thanks. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. (Prof.) Anjali Khare, Chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee, SVSU.
The second session was chaired by two resource persons of NCW; – Ms. Tunika, and Ms. Kamakshi. Prof. (Dr.) Reena Vishnoi, Chairperson, ICC, SVSU, has introduced the POSH Act. Ms. Tunika has discussed the Prevention, Prohibition and Reparation Act, 2013 and Ms. Kamakshi has discussed Cyber security and Women Empowerment. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nisha Rana, Incharge IPR Cell.
The program was jointly organized by the IPR Cell, Women Empowerment Committee, Gender Sensitization Cell, Gender Equity and Equal opportunity Cell of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. Professor (Dr.) Pintu Mishra (Dean Faculty of fine Arts), Professor (Dr.) Anjali Khare, (Chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee), Dr. Rakhi, Dr. Manju, Professor (Dr.) Sokindra Kumar, (Chairperson of Gender Equity and Equal Opportunity Cell), Members of ICC Dr. Sangeeta, members of the Gender Sensitization Cell and all committees and Dr. Nisha Singh contributed to making the program successful. The programme was moderated by Dr. Seema Sharma, Head Languages Department and was coordinated by Dr. Nisha Rana, Incharge IPR Cell, SVSU.
