Seminar Theme & Objectives

As India approaches the centenary of its independence in 2047, the nation stands at a pivotal moment rich with opportunities to establish itself as a global leader. The vision of “Viksit Bharat@2047” reflects a bold ambition to build an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economy, powered by the transformative forces of skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship. These core pillars are vital in addressing long-standing challenges such as poverty, unemployment, regional imbalances, and environmental sustainability. The UNDP India Human Development Reports underscore the strong linkage between human development indicators and the promotion of skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship, especially in rural and underserved areas. Their recommendations advocate for inclusive and sustainable growth models that leave no one behind.

Similarly, the National Startup Advisory Council Reports emphasize the importance of fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem through simplified regulatory frameworks, improved access to finance, and promotion of innovation in emerging and underrepresented regions. In parallel, India’s Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlight the critical role these pillars play in achieving Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).Insights from academic research, policy reports, and international experiences consistently affirm the need forcollaborative, inclusive, and sustainable strategies to realize India’s vision of becoming a developed nation. Addressing persistent issues such as regional disparities, gender inequality, and ecological degradation must remain central to our developmental agenda.

This seminar on Viksit Bharat 2047 provides a timely and meaningful platform to deliberate on strategies, identify challenges, and explore actionable solutions to harness the potential of skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
