Fresher Party 2026: Enchante’ – A Bollywood-Themed Celebration
The Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a vibrant Fresher Party titled Enchante’, based on an exciting Bollywood theme. The programme commenced with a traditional welcome ceremony in which the newly admitted students were welcomed with a tilak, symbolizing warmth, respect, and शुभारंभ. This was followed by the ceremonial deep prajwalan (lamp lighting) by the faculty members, marking an auspicious beginning to the celebration. The event aimed to welcome the freshers into the departmental family and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity, and confidence. The Bollywood theme added glamour and excitement to the occasion, with ramp walk, cultural performances, fun games, and interactive activities creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The celebration also encouraged interaction among freshers, seniors, and faculty members, fostering friendship, teamwork, and a sense of belonging.
A major highlight of the celebration was the announcement of special titles. Prashant and Kanishka were awarded the titles of Mr. and Ms. Bollywood Fresher, respectively, while Amrit and Sonika received the titles of Mr. and Ms. Spotlight, respectively. These recognitions celebrated the students’ confidence, personality, stage presence, and enthusiastic participation in the event. The programme provided a wonderful platform for students to express themselves, build new friendships, and create lasting memories through their active involvement in the festivities.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Mansi Chaudhary, Cultural Coordinator, with the valuable guidance and support of Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Gaur, Head of the Department of Home Science, along with the faculty members and students of the department. The collective efforts and enthusiastic participation of everyone contributed to the smooth organization and success of the celebration. The Fresher Party concluded on a joyful note, leaving the participants with cherished memories and reinforcing the spirit of unity, creativity, and togetherness within the department.
