Speaking on the occasion, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pramod Kumar Sharma, said, “It is extremely inspiring for our students to have a globally renowned artist like Kamal Sabri associated with Subharti University. Under his guidance, students will get the opportunity to understand the depth of Indian classical music and gain practical knowledge.”
The university’s CEO, Prof. Shalya Raj, stated, “Our aim is to make education not only theoretical but also practical and connected with the industry. The appointment of Kamal Sabri is a strong initiative in this direction, as it will allow students to learn from real-world experiences.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Pintu Mishra, added, “With Kamal Sabri’s presence, the standard of music education in the department will rise even higher. He will teach students the nuances of sarangi playing, along with stage performance techniques and insights into the global music scenario.”
Kamal Sabri, son of legendary sarangi maestro Ustad Sabri Khan, is known internationally for his performances of Indian classical music. He has performed on many prestigious stages worldwide and collaborated with several renowned artists. His unique talent lies in blending traditional sarangi music with modern musical styles.
On his appointment, Kamal Sabri said, “I am delighted to be associated with Subharti University. I will share my experiences with the students here and strive to make them more aware of and devoted to the art of music.”
The university administration expressed confidence that this initiative will provide students with high-level training, enabling them to establish their identity at both national and international levels.
