The XI Convocation Ceremony of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University was held with great dignity at the Mangalya Auditorium of the university campus. More than 2,500 students were awarded their degrees on this occasion.
The Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Nigeria, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabbi, was present as the Guest of Honour. The First Lady of Gujarat, Darshana Devi, was also present. The ceremony was presided over by the Chancellor of the University, Dr. Stuti Kakkar.
Several distinguished international guests from Nigeria attended the convocation, including Umar Garba Dustin Mari, Shaifiyu Abubakar Juro, and Ishah Abubakar Tunaga. Among the prominent local dignitaries were University Trustee Dr. Rohit Ravindra, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj, Executive Officer Dr. Krishnamurthy, Acharya Kuldeep, Anil Kumar, and Jagat Singh Dausa. Other dignitaries from Nigeria and West Asian countries were also present at the ceremony.
Addressing the graduating students, Chief Guest Acharya Devvrat said that a convocation is not an end, but the beginning of new responsibilities. He congratulated the students and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.
Following the tradition of the Subharti Group, the ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Kumbh Jalabhishek by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Prior to the main event, Governor Acharya Devvrat paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the INA Shaheed Smarak and the adjoining memorial garden located on the university campus. He was accorded a guard of honour by the Uttar Pradesh Police at the main venue.
At the Mangalya Auditorium, the Chief Guest and the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State also visited various student stalls set up under the university’s “Best Practices” initiative. These included stalls related to nation-building initiatives, startups, the Environment Committee, and the Wellness Centre, showcasing the innovative and socially responsible efforts of the students.
The convocation ceremony reflected the university’s commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and holistic development of its students.
