World Hand Hygiene Day 2026 was celebrated on 6th May 2026 at the hospital with great enthusiasm and active participation. The event featured an interactive training session in which 50 staff members from nursing and housekeeping departments, along with 10 technicians, were re-trained on the importance and best practices of Hand Hygiene (HH).

The session was followed by an engaging quiz and group activities, where participants demonstrated excellent knowledge and teamwork. To encourage participation, each correct answer in the quiz was rewarded with chocolates. It was heartening to note that not only the nursing staff but also the housekeeping staff actively participated and performed exceptionally well, reflecting their strong awareness and commitment to infection control practices.

The event proved to be highly fruitful, reinforcing the importance of hand hygiene in patient safety. The Hospital staff and Infection Control Nurses (ICNs) deserve special appreciation for their dedication, and the Hospital Infection Control (HIC) Team takes great pride in successfully organizing this meaningful initiative.
