 One-Day Workshop Report: “Role of Mental and Spiritual Wellness for Success and Peace in Life.”31-08-2026

Objectives

To promote awareness about mental and spiritual wellness among students.

To develop a calm, positive and focused mindset for academic and personal success.

To encourage students to adopt simple breathing and wellness practices in daily life.

To inspire goal-oriented, balanced and purposeful living.

As part of the Seven-Day Orientation Programme 2026–27, the Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized a one-day wellness workshop on “Role of Mental and Spiritual Wellness for Success and Peace in Life. The workshop contributed primarily to SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being by promoting mental wellness and healthy practices, and SDG 4 – Quality Education by supporting the holistic development of students.

 Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Education, and Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, Head, Department of Education, warmly welcomed all participants and extended their best wishes for their bright and successful future. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of mental and spiritual wellness, emotional balance, positive thinking and goal-oriented living, and to encourage them to adopt simple wellness practices in their daily lives.Dr. Roopam Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Faculty of Education remained the master of ceremony.

Guest speaker Dr. Rahul Bansal, Chairman, Wellness Centre, SVSU addressing the students, He began the session with a five-minute meditation and introduced the students to the Five P approach—Pustak, Pranayam, Paramarsh, Parishram and Prarthana—as simple practices for managing life effectively and maintaining peace and balance.Dr.Bansal emphasized that students should always keep their goals clearly before them and remain focused towards achieving them. He explained that focused efforts become more effective when the mind is calm, stable and peaceful. To provide students with a practical experience of relaxation and concentration, a five-minute Anulom-Vilom breathing session was conducted. The session highlighted the significance of mindful breathing, self-discipline, positive thinking and spiritual well-being in maintaining balance and achieving success. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Reeba Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Education and Coordinator, Wellness Committee, on behalf of the Department of Education.

Outcome

The workshop created awareness among students about the close relationship between mental peace, focused thinking and achievement of goals. The practical Anulom-Vilom session provided students with an easy wellness technique that can be incorporated into their daily routine. The activity encouraged students to develop a positive, peaceful and goal-oriented approach towards life.
