Guest Lecture on “Nursing Evolved as Science”

Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College organized a guest lecture on “Nursing Evolved as Science” with the theme “Biophysics: Scientific Principles and Their Application in Patient Care.” The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the scientific principles of physics and their relevance to nursing and patient care.

The session was graced by Dr. Ramesh Chand Kolonia, an experienced physicist, scientist, researcher and educator. Dr. Kolonia has more than 35 years of experience in research and development and retired as Chief Scientist from CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh in 2015. He has expertise in optical and opto-electronic devices and instrumentation and has contributed to research, teaching and training in the field of science and technology.

During the lecture, Dr. Kolonia explained various scientific principles and highlighted their applications in healthcare. He encouraged the students to develop a scientific approach and understand the role of physics in modern healthcare technologies and nursing practice.

The session was informative and interactive, providing students with an opportunity to learn from Dr. Kolonia’s extensive experience in science, research and education. Around 80 Indian students and 33 international students of B.Sc. Nursing 1st Semester and GNM 1st year participated in the program. The guest lecture was successfully completed under the guidance of Principal Dr. Geeta Parwanda Ma’am.
