From Research Design to Global Recognition: Department of Physical Education, SVSU’s RMSA Volume 4 Concludes in Grand Style with a Week of Learning, Culture and Celebration

Meerut, 16th September 2026 —

The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, in association with the Research & Development Cell, SVSU, and LNIPE, Gwalior, has successfully concluded its One Week International Workshop on Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis — RMSA Volume 4 — held in hybrid mode from 12th to 16th September 2026, bringing together 167 participants and thirteen distinguished resource persons from six countries — India, Poland, Brazil, Ethiopia, Bhutan, and Vietnam — for a week that blended rigorous academic learning with warmth, culture, and celebration.

The workshop opened on Day 1 with a grand Inaugural Session marked by the Saraswati Vandana, ceremonial lamp lighting, and the release of the inaugural edition of the Faculty of Education Newsletter, setting an energetic tone for the week ahead. The first day’s academic proceedings began with a session on Basic Concepts of Research by Dr. Shivam Mishra, followed by an introduction to the Post-Hoc Test by Prof. Dr. Ranjan Chakravarty, and an online session on Plagiarism and Plagiarism Detecting Softwares conducted by Prof. Dr. Joseph Singh, Dean (Academics), LNIPE, Gwalior, who addressed the growing importance of academic integrity in scholarly research.

Day 2 continued online with Prof. Dr. Joseph Singh’s session on the Practical Application of Paraphrasing, after which Prof. Dr. Rajeev Choudhary, Professor & Head, DSW, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, took charge for the remainder of the day, guiding participants through the Classification of Research and Identification of Research Problems, the Formulation of Research Objectives, Hypothesis and Variables, and a hands-on Practical Exercise on Applying Sampling Techniques to their own research work.

Day 3 remained entirely under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Rajeev Choudhary, whose sessions on Tools and Techniques of Data Collection, the Basics of Descriptive Statistics, and Report Writing and Referencing were rounded off with a Practical Exercise on Drafting a Research Report, giving scholars direct, applied experience in translating theory into a polished research document.

Day 4 turned the spotlight firmly onto the workshop’s international character, opening with a session on Contemporary Research Trends in Physical Education by Capt. Prof. Dr. T Onima Reddy, followed by International Research Trends presented by Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Stec from Poland, an Overview of Research Trends in Multidisciplinary Areas by Dr. Mukul, a session on Parametric and Non-Parametric Frameworks by Dr. Md. Babul Akhtar from Bhutan, the Basics of Exercise Physiology Research by Dr. Efrem Kentiba from Ethiopia, and Modern Research Trends in Athletics by Dr. Baiju Abraham — a day that gave participants a genuinely global sweep of research perspectives.

The final day of the workshop, Day 5, was a fitting finale, combining substantive academic content with cultural celebration and formal closure. The day’s technical sessions opened with Research Perspectives in Yoga and Alternative Therapies by Dr. Shivam Mishra, followed by A Step-by-Step Roadmap to Writing and Publishing High-Impact Research Papers by Dr. Sandeep Kumar, a session on Sport Management Research: A Global Outlook by Dr. Dessalegn Wase Mola from Brazil, and Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences Research Perspectives by Dr. Lubhan Singh, Additional Director of Research, KSCP, SVSU.

The Valedictory Session that followed was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Research & Development Cell and Co-Chairperson of the workshop, who conducted a concluding session on Research Grants, Publication and Institutional Research Support. The valedictory proceedings were graced by the presence of Dr. Pintu Mishra, Dean, Faculty of Education and Chairperson of the workshop, along with Dr. Lubhan Singh and several other departmental faculty members, as well as faculty from various other departments across the University, who joined to celebrate the successful culmination of the week-long programme.

A vibrant cultural programme added colour and warmth to the closing ceremony, with performances that were widely appreciated by the gathering, lending a festive spirit to the valedictory function. The ceremony also featured the formal distribution of Certificates of Participation to all offline delegates who met the attendance criteria, while e-certificates were issued to participants who had joined the sessions online through the week. The valedictory function concluded with a comprehensive report presentation summarising the entire one-week journey of RMSA Volume 4 — its sessions, resource persons, participation figures, and key outcomes — offering the gathering a complete recap of a week that significantly strengthened the research culture of the institution.

With its blend of rigorous, practice-oriented training, an unprecedented international resource panel, and a joyous, well-organised conclusion, RMSA Volume 4 stands as one of the Department of Physical Education’s most successful research capacity-building initiatives to date, setting a strong benchmark for future editions of the workshop.
