Successful Organisation of the Internal Round of Smart India Hackathon at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
Students Presented Innovative Ideas and Technical Solutions
Meerut, September 18: The internal round of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) was organised at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, on September 17-18, 2026, in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, innovation, and creativity. The event was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Manoj Kapil, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
A total of 88 teams from various faculties and departments of the University participated in the internal round. Students from diverse fields, including Arts, Science, Medical Sciences, Fine Arts, Pharmacy, Law, AYUSH, and Technology, showcased their talent, technical skills, and innovative abilities. The participating teams presented their innovative ideas, creative concepts, and technical solutions to problems related to society, industry, and real-life challenges before a panel of expert jury members.
To promote equal opportunities and inclusive participation, the participation of at least one female student in each team was made mandatory.
The ideas and technical solutions presented during the competition were evaluated by an interdisciplinary jury comprising Dr. Sanjeev Tyagi, Dr. Nair Dhiren Ajit, Dr. Sarika Abhay, and Dr. Rupesh Pandey. The interdisciplinary composition of the jury enabled a multidimensional evaluation of the students’ projects.
The 50 outstanding ideas from the competition will be uploaded to the Smart India Hackathon 2026 platform.
On the occasion, Dr. V. K. Mittal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, interacted with the participating students and appreciated their innovative and creative ideas. He encouraged the students to understand real-life problems and develop effective solutions through their technical knowledge and creative thinking.
Dr. Shalya Raj, Chief Executive Officer, SVSU, extended her best wishes to all participating students for their active involvement and innovative ideas. She encouraged the students and remarked that such platforms provide young people with valuable opportunities to showcase their talent, technical capabilities, and creative thinking.
The internal round of the Smart India Hackathon was organised through the joint collaboration of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University; Subharti Research and Incubation Cell; Startup Committee; Eklavya Club, Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and the University Entrepreneurship Development Cell (U-EDC).
The competition was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Aruna Bansal, Event Coordinator and SPOC (Single Point of Contact). The faculty members, coordinators, jury members, and students of the concerned faculties made significant contributions to the successful organisation of the event.
Special appreciation was extended to Mr. Amardeep, System Administrator, for his support and technical arrangements. The club members who made special contributions to the event included Himanshu Raj, Khushi Rani, Aryan Kumar, and Sudhanshu Singh. Special thanks were also expressed to Mr. Gopal Kumar Keshari, the anchor, for the effective and organised conduct of the programme and stage coordination.
