Patient Safety Skill Workshop
Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, Meerut, organized a two-day Patient Safety Skill Workshop from 17 September 2026 to 18 September 2026 with the aim of enhancing the clinical competencies, practical skills, and patient-safety practices of nursing students. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and develop confidence in performing essential clinical procedures safely and effectively.
The first day of the workshop was graced by Dr. Smriti Gupta, HOD and Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG), as the Chief Guest. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Dr. Smriti Gupta along with Dr. Ambili, HOD, OBG Nursing Department. The inaugural session emphasized the importance of patient safety, clinical competency, and adherence to safe practices in nursing care.
Following the inauguration, the hands-on skill sessions commenced, covering three important clinical procedures. IV Cannulation was conducted by Asst. Lecturer Ms. Arti, Blood Transfusion was conducted by PG Tutor Ms. Sandhya, and Wound Dressing was conducted by Associate Professor Ms. Josy Jose. The sessions focused on providing students with practical exposure to essential clinical procedures while emphasizing infection prevention, accuracy, patient comfort, and adherence to safety protocols.
A total of 50 students actively participated in the workshop. The hands-on training provided the students with valuable opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical settings, strengthen their clinical skills, and develop greater confidence in patient care. The workshop served as an effective platform for promoting a culture of patient safety and enhancing the overall clinical preparedness of nursing students.
