Anganwadi visit to Prathmik Vidyalaya Pepla
On November 8, 2024, the Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized an enriching Anganwadi visit to Prathmik Vidyalaya Pepla Coordinated by Dr. Shruti Pokheriyal and Ms. Urvashi Sharma, this visit aimed to create awareness among young children about critical topics such as personal hygiene, sanitation, understanding good touch and bad touch, and the importance of preventing anemia. The purpose was to equip children with essential knowledge on health and safety from an early age. Throughout the session, the coordinators ensured that each concept was presented in a simple and engaging way that resonated with the young audience.
To keep the session interactive and enjoyable, the team incorporated various fun activities that encouraged participation and enthusiasm among the children. Rhymes were sung together, helping create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere that made learning memorable. Additionally, the coordinators organized a physical game; the “Up & Down” game, to engage the children in a playful exercise that also provided an avenue for teamwork and camaraderie. The children enjoyed the activities, and these interactive methods proved effective in reinforcing the educational messages. The session on good touch and bad touch was handled delicately, using age-appropriate language and scenarios to ensure the children could understand the concept and feel empowered about personal safety.
