Anti-Ragging Awareness Program at Subharti Law College

An Anti-Ragging Awareness Session was organised for the newly admitted students of Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law as an integral part of the Orientation Programme., under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director (Former Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad), and Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Law.
The activity was designed to familiarise freshers with the concept of ragging, its various forms, and its harmful consequences on the physical, mental, emotional and academic well-being of students. The session provided students with an understanding of the legal provisions, UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations and University rules relating to the prevention and prohibition of ragging.
Students were also apprised of the zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, the possible legal and disciplinary consequences for students involved in such activities, and the role of the Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad. Information regarding available reporting and grievance mechanisms was shared so that students could confidently seek assistance or report any incident or apprehension of ragging.
The session further emphasized the importance of mutual respect, dignity, empathy, discipline and responsible interaction between senior and junior students. Through this activity, the Institute sought to encourage freshers to actively contribute towards creating a safe, inclusive, supportive and ragging-free academic environment.
