REPORT ON ANTI RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAM:
The Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organised a dedicated Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme as an integral component of its seven-day orientation programme for newly admitted students. This programme was organised on 31 August 2026, with the objective of acquainting students with the university’s academic environment, institutional facilities, rules and regulations, student-support systems, and various welfare initiatives.
The Anti-Ragging Awareness session was organised to sensitise newly admitted students about the prevention of ragging and to familiarise them with the institutional mechanisms and support facilities available for maintaining a safe, disciplined, inclusive and harmonious academic environment.
The session was addressed by Dr. Shashi Raj Teatia, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Applications and Chief Proctor, SVSU, who explained the functioning and significance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in detail. He sensitised the students about the seriousness of ragging and emphasised the importance of discipline, mutual respect, responsible behaviour and ethical conduct within the university campus. He also apprised the students of the institutional mechanisms available for reporting ragging-related concerns and seeking timely assistance.
The session was further conducted by Dr. Bhavna Chaudhary, Research Scholar (JRF), Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, who elaborated on various anti-ragging activities, preventive measures and support facilities provided by the Anti-Ragging Squad, the Faculty of Education and the University. She encouraged students to remain aware of their rights and responsibilities and to actively contribute towards creating a ragging-free campus.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Reshu Rani, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU, and In-charge, Anti-Ragging Squad, Faculty of Education. The awareness programme was successfully conducted under her guidance and supervision. Her efforts in coordinating the session and ensuring effective communication of anti-ragging guidelines contributed significantly to the successful execution of the programme. She emphasised the collective responsibility of students, faculty members and university authorities in preventing ragging and ensuring the safety and dignity of every student.
During the session, students were made aware of the support available through faculty members, university authorities and the Anti-Ragging Squad. They were encouraged to report any incident or concern related to ragging without hesitation and to seek assistance whenever required. The students also participated actively in the awareness session and were motivated to uphold the values of mutual respect, discipline, cooperation and responsible citizenship.
The programme reflected the strong commitment of the Faculty of Education and Swami Vivekanand Subharti University towards student welfare, safety, discipline and the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment. The comprehensive awareness session proved valuable in familiarising newly admitted students with the university’s anti-ragging framework and reinforcing the importance of dignity, respect and responsible conduct within the campus community.
The Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme thus formed a significant component of the seven-day orientation programme, reinforcing the University’s message of zero tolerance towards ragging and promoting a safe, supportive and harmonious educational environment for all students.
