       Awareness & Sensitization Session on TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan-24-08-2026

The Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized an Awareness & Sensitization Session on TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on 24 August 2026 at the Seminar Hall.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, marking the beginning of the awareness initiative. Dr. Pintu Mishra, Dean Fine Art and Faculty of Education warmly welcomed all the dignitaries, faculty members and participants and appreciated the coordinated efforts of Dr. Reeba Devi and Dr. Roopam Jain, Activity Coordinators, along with the active participation of the student coordinators. He emphasized that “Good health is the symbol of all success” and highlighted that such awareness sessions should be organized from time to time for the benefit of students and the university community.

The session aimed to create awareness about TB, promote early identification and treatment, and encourage preventive health practices among students and staff. The programme resulted in improved awareness about TB symptoms, prevention, early diagnosis and treatment, thereby contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

He emphasized that “Good health is the symbol of all success” and highlighted that such awareness sessions should be organized from time to time for the benefit of students and the university community. The programme was ably anchored by Vaishnavi Mishra and Kajal, students of B.Ed. I Year, while media coverage was managed by Sangita, Naman and their team members. Dr. Anoj Raj, Head, Department of Education, explained the significance of organizing the session and emphasized the importance of awareness, early identification and preventive measures related to tuberculosis.

 The Resource Person, Dr. Aditi Vats, MBBS Intern, Subharti Medical College, explained the topic in a simple, engaging and easy-to-understand manner.  Dr.Vats,explained the subject in a simple and engaging manner. She emphasized the importance of recognizing TB symptoms on time and consulting a doctor at the earliest, highlighting that TB is a curable and treatable disease when diagnosed early and treated properly. She advised patients to complete the prescribed course of medicines without skipping or discontinuing treatment midway. She also stressed the role of a nutritious diet, yoga, regular exercise, strong immunity and a healthy lifestyle in supporting recovery. She highlighted that patients need love, care, a healthy diet, a positive environment and regular medication for complete recovery.

She focused on three key objectives: creating awareness about TB and its symptoms, promoting early diagnosis and timely treatment, and encouraging preventive and healthy lifestyle practices. The programme resulted in enhanced awareness among participants regarding TB prevention, early diagnosis, treatment adherence and healthy living.

The concluding interactive question-and-answer session witnessed active participation from students, faculty members and non-teaching staff, who raised various queries related to TB symptoms, prevention, treatment and medication. The queries were addressed satisfactorily by the resource person. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Indira Singh, Academic Coordinator, Department of Education, Faculty of Education, SVSU. The participants expressed their satisfaction and appreciated the informative, interactive and meaningful session.
