Department of Languages, FASS in collaboration with LeFrehindi celebrated Christmas Étoiles De Nöel (Bells Carols and Candles) on Tuesday, 10th December 2024, though The Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25th every year globally in the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This celebration was held in the Department of Languages. The French language students and students of Language Department beautifully decorated the hall with bells, Santa clause posters and toffees, chocolates and beautifully adorned Christmas trees. The dress code for the day was white and red. The celebration began with the blessings of Dr. Seema Sharma, HOD of language department. The host for the day Vikhyat and Shrishti started with the maiden speech telling the gathering about the historical information that Santa Claus, based on the historical figure Saint Nicholas, plays a magical role by delivering presents to children worldwide. They informed that the tradition of celebrating the Christmas started from Germany. They welcomed all the gathering and thanked French trainer Ms. Jyoti for this initiative, HOD Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Rafat Khanam, In-Charge of English and Foreign Languages for organizing Christmas Celebrations.
The celebration was commenced with Classic carol “Jingle Bells,” which is a symbol of spreading joy and warmth. The chorus, French language students, Ayushi, Samia, Ananya, Roshni, sang the jingle bells and the hall echoed with the voice of everyone present.All the faculty members and students like a Caroling groups sang the melodious jingle bells and shared the festive cheer.
Following the melodious Christmas Carols all the teachers and students gathered for cake cutting ceremony. The program was beautified with the ‘Pick the Chit and Act’ game. It was a full of fun game in which everyone picked up the chits from the bowl and performed various activities. Another phase of the celebration was ‘Enhance your Knowledge Quiz”. It was a question and answer round for increasing the excitement and knowledge about the Christmas fest. The host asked very interesting questions and students and faculty members received the gifts on answering the right reply. One more round of ‘One Wish that You Want Santa Claus to Fulfill’ was also celebrated and it was very inclusive round in which everybody’s answers were mesmerizing and very heart touching. Everyone was filled with joy and felt a sense of knowledge and togetherness. After this warm session more fun began with the game of ‘Bursting Balloons’. This was enjoyed by everyone and the event came to an end. The day was celebrated together with everyone, it was a lovely and very amazing day which eventually came to an end and many new amazing memories were created this Christmas.
The celebration was concluded with the distribution of Christmas cards and Sweets to all the faculty members, students and staff. Vikhyat and Srishti offered the formal vote of thanks. Christmas Day was celebrated with absolute enthusiasm that transcended religious and cultural boundaries, promoting love, joy, and togetherness. Its blend of religious observance, festive customs, makes it a meaningful and cherished the gathering. During the program Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof. Rajeswar, Dr. Rafat, Dr. Ashish, Dr. Manisha, Dr. Nishi. Dr. Anuj, Dr. Yaspal, Dr. Ranveer, Ms. Swati, Mr. Ankit and Students Chhavi, Apurvi, Shikha, Vikhyat, Srishti, Ananya, Ayushi, Roshni, Samia, Fahad, Vidhi, Kanishka, Khushi were present.
