Dr. Mayur Kaushik, Professor and Head, Department of Periodontology & Implantology, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, was invited as a Guest Speaker for a webinar on the topic “Direct Sinus Lift in Implantology for General Practitioners”, jointly organised by IDA UP State and IDA Meerut Cantt. The webinar was organised under the leadership of the IDA Meerut Cantt branch, led by Dr. Rahul Vaid (President), Dr. Sumit Goel (Secretary), and Dr. Pankaj Ratan Gupta (CDE Chairman), along with the IDA UP State Branch under the leadership of Dr. Sudhakar Singh (President).
The talk comprehensively covered the important practical aspects of performing a direct sinus lift using piezoelectric surgery, with special emphasis on its clinical advantages, safety, and precision in sinus membrane elevation. Also, discussed step-by-step procedural protocols, case selection criteria, and techniques to minimize complications, thereby enabling general practitioners to confidently incorporate this advanced surgical approach into routine implant practice.
In addition, the session highlighted the various bone graft materials used in direct sinus lift procedures, including their biological properties, indications, and clinical outcomes. The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation and was attended by more than 200 dental practitioners from across the state, reflecting the strong academic interest and relevance of the topic among the dental fraternity.
